Life is so darn funny...
Oh well, Let me tell you, life is just so darn funny sometimes....
Especially when you get to reminisce the past with one of your best buddy suddenly...
I did mine on last Saturday, when I suddenly receive an sms from an unknown number...
Basically, we went the usual way, with me asking who the sender is...
Turns out the sender is my best buddy, X..
Lol... Well, I told her I didn't have her number as the last time I smsed her number, the fella actually called me and told me that no such person (kind fella right?! Lol~)
So anyway, we basically started sms each other to update ourselves, asking what each other was doing and blah blah blah...
So, the start of the reminisce portion actually came halfway when she smsed that she missed the old days when we were playing hopscotch every recess.
So, the rest of the smses went something like this... (I didn't remember playing with the girls with hopscotch though...)

Me: Yah... Catching spiders, moaning over the seemingly endless trips to the zoo... No such worries bout the Future... haha
X: Yah lor... We were still diggin for earthworms n havin class parties... Haha... Den moan at spelling tests...
Me: Haha... We still moan over test and exams though... I miss the garden walk n science lab though
X: Hahaha... yeah.. Tt was fun. Den I still rmb me gg everywhere to copy e science card thing to get badges... haha...
Me: Yah... The badges.. Dunnoe go where liao lor...

.
(we went a bit off here into clubbing and stuff and then, to our fav fella, D then back to the good old days... Hahahaha~~~)
Me: Wahahaha... I remember I like to hang out wth the guys mre n nt much with the girls... Hahaha...
X: Yah lor... Den 2 of us hang out will go w e guys sometimes to catch all those insects n put them together to fight...
Me: Haha... Mre fun mah... Cant remember what the girls did... But the guys always let us join in the fun lor... Hahaha!
X: Ya lor... We cld follow them arnd.. Those gals were into netball n i dunno wat... We 2 were Nvr in e main stream popular crowd... Lol...
Me: Hahahaha.. Must b.. I definitely remember the spiders, the pond n the guys.. Nt much of the girls though... Wahahaha!
X: Lol... I rmb playin hopscotch w e gals la... Den aft tt all those spider catchin days w u n e guys..
Me: Haha... Lucky u... But i really dun remember much bout hanging out with the girls though...
X: Lol... I think most of e days u were really hangin arnd w e guys.. Those days we had clean fun.. nowadays havin fun but not tt innocent liao..
Me: Heh.. That explains why i can remember most of the guys names but nt much of the grls... Hahaha!
X: Lol... Den I muz b one of e few lucky gals.. Wahaha..
For those of you reading, my primary school had a big fish pond with alot of carps... Rumour has it that our teacher FED them every day... lol... The science labs were all full of fishes (I suspect all of the fishes there were his as well coz he lets us feed them and help wash the tanks!!) and we had a science garden near the canteen whereby I swear any thing and everything crawling lives there... Wahhaha!! You could find water hyacines, banana leaves... etc etc... Oh yeah, there was also a shed there that was rumoured to hold a ghost (We never once saw anyone open the shed, but we kept hearing creaking sounds though...).
The badges we were talking about were those that were tied up with the Singapore Science Centers... Not sure whether they are still around, but, they were definitely the most IN thing then... hahaha~
And well, I really don't remember much about hanging out with the girls.... I was generally more confortable with the guys, coz at that age, I didn't mind getting myself muddy and dirty.
They were more fun and interesting in the way they do things... The digimon brick game toy was famous back then, and well, yah, I had that! lol~ We used to bring it to school everyday and play fighting with the guys from the next door class (my class was B, theirs was A) And well, through the crossovers, we DID get to know other people later (again GUYS) from other classes who were into what we were playing lar...
Obviously, we were more rowdy and fun to be with lar, and got a couple of stares from the girls... hahaha!~
Badminton, basketball, insect catching, fern scrapping, you named it, I did it with the guys... And well, I'm like so happy that at that time, they didn't stay away from us or scare us away lor... They let me and X joined in the fun in almost every thing they do... (Must be because we didn't scream and hit back when they shove the earthworms and spiders at us and the girls the first few times... Hahahaha~)
The girls then... Well, I just couldn't relate to them... They were into the Sweet Valley High thingy, which became REALLY popular during my time, and talked about which character from the books and which guy from our school... Yah... I definitely found myself with the guys more... haha
So, obviously, Me and X, we are best bud and we definitely have gone a long long way... hahahahah~
Anyway, it IS fun to remember the past! That's all I can say!
