Think I've miscounted... But ANYWAY~~~ :)
RANT: Should Count My BLESSINGS~! - M1
You know, come to think of it, I think I've really been lucky so far in my work relationship so far...
In M1 for my Poly attachment, I've met people who took care of me and gave me encouragement when I needed it the most; praise me when I've completed the work on time...
Although, I don't keep in contact with most of them now, but I really treasure the time I had with the department, especially the everyday lunches whereby the whole department goes as a group instead of one going one's own way, the X'mas party where the boss of the department read to us the book, "The Giving Tree"...
It's coming to 2 years since I've left the company and graduated from Poly, but up till now, I still dream of the session and the time we have had together... And I still yearn...
To me, it's the ideal work condition that we should have in our work environment, where encouragement is given freely, to people who need them; help is given when needed, and praise is given when a good job is done...
Sad to say, after M1, I'm no longer able to see such a good working environment...
Rant (Part 2): Count My blessings - StarHub
Well, after M1, my next job was with StarHub... I came in at the time when it was having a turnover (like most call centers companies)...
Also, when I came in, there were no official training given to me as I'd missed the training period...
As a result, everything was really on the job training...
My ex-Boss's boss, F (who left in March/ April this year), trained me in the system...
For all the faults F has, I've still got to thank her though...
Even though the training period was brief (a rough guide in the system and a drilling in TRO (don't know why she chose to concentrate in it...) ) and most of the cases she passed to me were like "#$%^&!!!", but then, when I needed assistance in some cases and help from the other departments, I always RAN to her when she's around...
Contary to what people say about lunches with her, I like lunches with her though, coz for one, the lunches were always full of gossips and a break from work-related issues... LOL~
My team Plus JC:
Yah, for our pay, we end up most of the time doing SHITTY cases, where people don't want to claim them, anyhow wack and become troublesome and then, we always end up being the scapegoats...
T:
I'm most lucky in the sense that during the training period, I was attached to T, who was very patient and funny... He taught me almost everything that F didn't teach me or mis-taught me (in terms of the process wise)...
Also, I was damn lucky in the sense that whenever I needed help when I was finally launched into the "sea", he was ALWAYS there to help me... Hahaha~~
Yah, I still miss eating the number 1 with him (since he's the one who introduced it to me... :) )...
JC:
JC was also another funny person, kept saying to me when I joined that he wanted to test me in the technical stuff and to train me personally, but one year le, he still never managed to train me personally in the end!! Hahahahaha~~
Biang, I'm still waiting for my testimonial from him, BTW, slowwwwww~~~~~
SH:
Funny how when I started out, I sat beside him, but we never talked... Hahahaha!
After which, I sat in T's place (T left after my training) and started running to him for help coz JC either always directed me to him or go off for smoking breaks and I needed help...
In the end, we shifted again, and somehow, we ended up sitting beside each other again... Hahaha!!!!! Talk about deja vu!! Hehe~!
Come to think of it, when I joined, I sat beside you...
When I left, I still sat beside you... hahahahaha~!
YL:
I've never talked much to him, but I appreciate the help he always gave me when I needed it the most...
Whenever I think back, I find it funny as to how, in the space of 1 year when I was with them, the only remaining person from the team when the time I first joined and finally left is just SH... (I don't count JC as he was considered a TL when I joined... )
My department:
People like CP, CF, and the whole team... Am really fortunate in getting to know them... Whenever I needed help, I could always run to them for help and advice... :)
Other departments:
FY:
Yah, to this, I guess I really AM fortunate in the sense that I got to know him! Hahaha~~~
Guess we ended up like partners in crime...
Almost every super duper technical cases for cable I ended up either depending him for help or ringing his extension for technical advice or explanation...
Yah... his extension number was a particular fav of mine... niahahahaha~ :)
If he needed any drafting, he'd popped it into my queue and I'd draft it for him first before I touch my other follow-up cases...
Ok, so the truth is finally out! He did have an express queue in my drafting list and queue... Lol~
Yah, he also gave me tons of food to eat everytime I went up to visit him... hahahahah~ :)
CL:
Got to know him coz of one case, ever since then, somehow or other, we ended up being friends and he'd help me to REALLY escalate my cases to the backend people and always help me with my queries... :)
LH/ BH & RL:
Hahaha!!! Really funny how I came to know them, esp RL... hahaha~!
Am really lucky in the sense that whenever I had any issues or queries, they were always there to help me and advice me...
Some people would say I have very good ren yuan (human relationship/ PR skills), I mix around well with other/correct departments, blah blah blah...
But then, to me, it takes two hands to clap... I believe that if one reaches out, he/she will find another hand who will grab the hand (friendship), all it takes is an effort from both ends to keep the relationship alive and stable...
Hence, I don't count myself as having good ren yuan, but I count myself as being fortunate and lucky that I managed to know such people and become good work mates with them...
When I joined my job, my colleagues were like, stunned and shocked when they heard about my pay (2 times of theirs), and most asked me the reason why I resigned and joined them.
My principal also told me that HR had actually contacted her to ask whether she would like to employ me when they saw my last drawn salary...
Some also asked me whether I regret resigning...
Well, I do regret sometimes... Especially if you are talking on $$ and relationship bonding... But in terms of work, nah...
I left because I no longer had any interest in purely the service sector, what with the people being more and more educated today and being more and more demanding...
Also, I left because the customers lead me to think that I am unsuitable for the job, as I had to forever ring people from other departments almost everytime for help and advice....
The sense of being helpless in the sense of the technical knowledge and the inadequate training provided to me and my team....
Well, my current job also deals with service, talking to the parents... etc
But then, I find it more relaxing compared to my last job and more worthwhile...
Am I making any sense here?
Hmm....
Come to think of it, why am I writing this?!
God.... Guess I'm reflecting on my life and work.... Lol~~
Cheers~
