Sunday Post~~
Ah well, received a sms from my ex-colleague, on the 30 May, to be exact...
Yah yah... It's a bit late to blog in now... wahaha~~~
But then, it seems like I have something ELSE to blog about every time... FOOD?!?! Lol~~~
Anyway, here's the content she shared with me:
This is LOVE:
There was a blind girl who used to hate everyone except her boyfriend.
She always used to say that,
"I'll marry you if I can see!!"
Suddenly, one day, someone donated eyes to her and then when she saw her boyfriend, she was completely astonished coz he was also blind!!
Her boyfriend then asked,
"WILL YOU MARRY ME NOW??"
The girl simply refused.
Her boyfriend smiled and went away, saying,
"JUST TAKE CARE OF MY EYES..."
When I read this, there were couple of thoughts drifting through my mind...
1) Donation of eyes: so simple?
Hmm... Being scientific here... Does such operation exist in the first place? From living people to living people, I mean?
I don't think anyone can just happily donate eyes like this, at a snap of the fingers... Seriously...
But then, will people really donate, even to their love ones?
Hmm... Frankly speaking, if this happens to me, I also don't know whether I will donate, much less having someone to donate to me....
For God's sake, I'm NOT that popular... Or even SO perfect that people, even unknown people, will bother to even donate an eye to me...
I really salute people who does donate such stuff... Especially if they are still LIVING when they donate...
By the way, is such things possible?? Hmm.....
2) The girl's feelings.
Well, I understand if the girl doesn't want to marry coz she's blind, she doesn't want to be a burden to her boyfriend, etc.
But to the extent of hating everyone because she's blind?! That's stupid and illogical, isn't it? Don't understand how the boyfriend can still stand by her and her nonsense of hating everyone just because she's blind...
Then, when she can finally see....
Maybe she just couldn't accept that her boyfriend was also blind.. She doesn't want to take care of another blind fella, and such...
Maybe she can't take it?
Ah well, Love's blind.....
3) The boyfriend.
Wow, I really admire the guy... Got a world-hating girlfriend, and he can still stand by her. Keeps asking her to marry him...
Love her to the extent of donating his eyes just to marry her, even though in the end, he's alone...
When his girlfriend can finally see, and yet, doesn't want to marry him simply because he's blind, all the boyfriend does is just walk away....
LOVE......
Wow...
If this isn't touching, I don't know what is....
But to link to today's concept... Does such love still exist? Has it EVER existed?!
Can love be SO great that you'll risk your life donating your organs to him/her so that he/she will live on happily ever after while you are missing some parts of yourself to him/her?
I'm not talking about donating kidneys and other organs (Are there any more such organs? ), where you can give away one and can still live on the other.
I'm talking about organs like the eyes, heart... etc.
Are people really so self-sacrificing that they will rather give up their lives just to save another person?
I don't know, man... Can't give an answer to it...
Well, this may sound cold, but, serious speaking, the world today works on the concept of:
"Each and every man's for himself"
Well, yeah... Something along the line... Sigh....
Callous, ever-realistic world out here...
Hmm.......
